Going Green, Going Strong GreenTown’s Community Connections
GreenTown Los Altos friends, old and new, braved the storm on Wed., Jan. 18, to join our Community Connections event. Coming in from the cold, wet weather, we were greeted by lovely refreshments, thanks to Mary Clark Bartlett’s Epicurian Group.
Presentations flowed with topics of interest to all:
Kris Jensen, GreenTown’s new Executive Director, conducted the program events.
Margie Suozzo gave a brief history of GreenTown from its beginnings almost 10 years ago as a Sierra Club off-shoot addressing the Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement.
As a volunteer organization, GreenTown’s accomplishments are volunteer dependent as such we had a job opportunity table with several of our open volunteer positions for those in attendance to peruse.
Leaders of the 4 GreenTown programs, Water, Waste, Watts and WoW presented an exciting and varied list of recent activities that have engaged the Los Altos/Los Altos Hills residents.
Community Feedback
The session got lively, with lots of great ideas flowing (see graphics on this page), as everyone shared their future goals by applying post-it notes to individual program posters. There were so many terrific ideas that we need to prioritize, all liste
d below within the colored boxes on this page, split by each of GreenTown’s program areas. We’ll be tapping these ideas in the coming months. Many many thanks!
