Last year over 170 Los Altos & Los Altos Hills residents helped us win the Peninsula wide challenge by logging over 10,000 green miles by taking the train or bus, cycling, walking or carpooling. They prevented about 6600 pounds of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

Take the Challenge
For a two-week period starting on Earth Day, April 22, you can challenge yourself to use an alternative form of transportation to run errands and to get to work or school. By leaving your car at home, you can improve your health, save money, conserve energy and eliminate CO2 emissions.
Challenge yourself to reduce the miles you travel solo in a gas-powered vehicle and you could win some valuable prizes from our local merchants. Last year, dozens of Los Altos businesses donated gift certificates for our winners. The Challenge starts on Earth Day, April 22, and runs for just two weeks. Why not try out [...]
