Hello Marya,
The City Council is very open to citizen input on what should be done downtown. It is having a study session tomorrow (Tuesday, 9/27 at 5:30pm in the Council Chambers) to get input. Please attend and provide your perspective to the Council.

Alternatively, you can email them before the meeting at council@losaltosca.gov

Regards,
Joe

We are shocked and saddened to learn of Patty's passing. Our deepest sympathy to Patty's family on the loss of one wonderful woman who made our community a better place. Her vision of a sustainable Los Altos, her leadership in making the Environmental Commission a vital and positive voice for change, her commitment to GreenTown and educating us all about how to walk more gently on the land and always, her upbeat, friendly, encouraging and inclusive nature, a calm voice in a strident world, will be sorely missed.
Peace, Carol

I think it's time to stop and await a review of what's currently being done. We have 3-4 storeis going up around town. We are not Redwood City! Our village atmosphere is being ruined. Naturally, merchants and developers and other special interests want more and more development. I'm surprised that the council is rushing ahead with this before we see the result of current development that's going in.

There are more empty stores downtown that ever I've seen in 40 year of living here. Get landowners to reduce rents and fill up the empties before thinking about more building.

You should, of course, say "industrial meat". The comparison is not true for pasture raised meat, which in the best of cases can not only have a very small carbon footprint, but can be beneficial to the earth. Great sources of pastured raised meat in the Bay Area include Marin Sun Farms, Morris Ranch, TomKat Ranch and Paicines Ranch.

It's nice that Los Altos is a bicycle friendly community. Los Altos Hills certainly is not. The city of Los Altos Hills seems to have asked the Santa Clara County Sheriff's department to cite all bicyclists for even the most minor of infractions, breeding animosity between cyclists and law enforcement. This short-sighted response to the real problem of educating bicyclists, especially riders in large groups, about the necessity to obey traffic regulations has certainly discouraged me from riding in Los Altos and Los Altos Hills.

Rakes and brooms are the best, but electric blowers are better for the environment than gas blowers. Electric blowers do not reach the noise levels of 70 dB and above that the gas blowers do. They do not give off the toxic exhaust fumes and emission, a major source of air pollution, that the gas blower engines do. Electric blowers are generally less powerful and, therefore, blow less of the particulate matter and other toxic substances into the air.
Summer's coming with the usual "spare the air days" expected. Rakes and brooms (or electric blowers if you must) on those days will help us all breathe better.

So electric blowers are okay?? Don't they also blow up mold, pollen, animal feces, pesticides and fertilizers leaving particulate matter suspended for hours. Please explain how electric blowers are so different from gas powered blowers.

Promote use of "Grey Water" by having free worshop to discuss, to give instructions on various method and plans.
Promote capturing rainwater, storage and systems for uses.

Promote how to develop Native Calif Plant garden instead of water and fertilizer hungry lawns

Thanks for considering and your response awaited.

I would love to see a safer bicycle route along Page Mill Road at the I-280 interchange. The current bike lanes are very difficult, even dangerous, for the average bicyclist. That is all times of the day, but especially during rush hour.
